Late Shri Venkatesh Kamat opened various Iconic Restaurants, such as Samrat at Churchgate, Status at Nariman Point, Santoor and Many More Completing 50 Years.
1986
The company Kamat Hotels (India) Limited. (Khil) was incorporated on 21st March 1986. It Opened multi hotels under kamat brand at Silvassa, Ankleshwar, Vapi and Goa.
1990
Khil Purchased a Four Star Property 'Kamat Plaza Hotel' Situated Near Domestic Airport, Mumbai. And upgraded it to Kamat Plaza and Popular Disco 'Go Bananas'.
1994
KHIL went public through an IPO
1997
The Orchid Asia's First ECO Friendly Five Star Hotel was opened on 27th September 1997.
2007
The first and only heritage hotel of Maharashtra "Fort JadhavGADH" was opened.
2007-2008
The Orchid Pune Balewadi was opened along with expansion into Orissa with Bhubaneshwar, Lotus Konark & Mahadodhi Palace.
2020
Company also opened its 3rd Ecotel hotel in Lonavala.
2021
Company opened its Ecotel Hotels in Shimla & Manali
2023
Company opened its Ecotel Hotels in Jamnagar (The Orchid Hotels) & Sambhajinagar (Ira by Orchid Hotels).
